Welcome to the Sweet Roll FAQs

This ride is going to be epic. How could it not be? We’re talking mounds of donuts, miles of biking with friends, sweet prizes, and more sugar-fueled fun than your average Saturday morning watching cartoons.

But we know what you’re thinking… “How many donuts are too many donuts?” “What if it rains, will the donuts be safe?”

Don’t worry—we’ve got answers to the questions rolling around in your head. Check out the FAQs and get ready to ride, roll, and maybe even glaze the competition. (See what we did there? Ha!)

Let’s do this!

  • Yes! For safety, helmets are required for all riders, no matter how fast, slow, young, or seasoned you are.

  • We ride rain or shine! A little water won’t stop the Sweet Roll. In case of severe weather, we may delay or modify the start time for safety.

  • All registrations are non-refundable. If you can’t ride, your fee will be considered a donation to support Solid Rock Ministries—thank you!

  • Absolutely! This is a family-friendly event, and we welcome riders of all ages. Children (under the age of 18) should be accompanied by an adult, and yes, helmets for them too!

  • Yep! We’ve got two ride lengths so you can choose your adventure—whether you're a casual cruiser (13 miles- 1 donut stop) or a pedal-powered pro (38 miles- 2 donut stops).

  • Of course! E-bike riders are welcome. We even have a special category just for you!

  • The Sweet Roll supports Solid Rock Ministries, this nonprofit provides free labor and low-cost home repairs that empower individuals with hope and dignity.

  • Awards will be given for:

Fastest Time* in the following categories:

    Pedal-powered (Normal)
First & Second Place- Men’s Division
First & Second Place- Women’s Division

    Electric-assisted
    First & Second Place

    (*Official Timing Rule:

Sweet Roll Route & Directions

The Sweet Roll Route offers two ride options, both showcasing the best of West Michigan in the summer! Whether you choose the shorter or longer route, you’ll roll through scenic countryside and cruise just shy of the beautiful lakeshore. It's the perfect blend of fresh air, rolling hills, and sweet views—with donut stops along the way, of course.
